It might surprise you to know that I don’t start my day with green juices… and I used to skip breakfast too. I always used to say that I just wasn’t a breakfast eater.
But when I trained as a nutritional therapist and then became a mum, I realised that I wasn’t hungry at breakfast time because I had trained my body to run on cortisol.
Once I understood exactly what that was doing to my blood sugar and mood, I did my best to get more consistent.
And yet I still used to stand at the school gate running on nothing more than a coffee – and then slipping into the corner shop for a pastry on the way home.
What changed wasn't more discipline. It was realising that breakfast is just another meal.
When I got that, everything else followed.
And that one realisation is the lightbulb moment that sticks with my clients long after they finish working with me.
