Sustainable Living with Ruth Watson of Ecologico {S2E8}
Listen on:
Today I'm talking to Ruth Watson of Ecologico UK. She helps people people live more sustainably through education, sustainable retail and responsible gifting. In this episode we discuss:
- How becoming a parent means entering a consumerist world with very emotive advertising and making choices you've never thought of before
- How parenthood is often a time when we start thinking about the impact we're having on the world and what we're bringing our children into
- Second hand stuff for children and the stigma that can surround it
- Breastfeeding as a sustainable option and what you can do make it even greener
- How to make sustainable choices without putting too much pressure on an already stressful time of life
This is a slightly different focus than usual as it's less about mum's health and wellbeing, but given the interest in leaving a lighter footprint, I think it's interesting to learn more about living more sustainably. Plus, it's a topic I'm passionate about and love learning more about it!
But what drew me to Ruth is her practical, no-nonsense approach. She's very down-to-earth and not all or nothing in her approach - she's all about making small, practical changes on a regular basis that adds up over time.
