Listen on:

This week's episode on Raising Healthy Mothers is a bit of a personal one, because I'm talking about the stress I've been experiencing in the last 7 months and the journey I've been on to cope with it and build my resilience which has clearly taken a knock in the past two years since becoming a mother.

In the episode I talk about...

  • Why I've been particularly stressed out this year

  • What stress is and why the chronic stress state we're in is so detrimental to our health

  • Why building resilience when removing the stressors themselves is impossible

  • The 4 steps I took to improve my stress resilience and why they're each so important

I'm very much still a work in progress and learning new ideas and ways of coping strategies as I go along. Letting go of responsibilities and asking for help can be difficult, but in the long term the effect of opening up and letting others share your burden is probably the one thing that will make the biggest difference.
